Heated Seat Rip Off?

What's up people!

I'm trying to get heated seats installed in my max so I searched some old threads and called a couple of stealerships. One **** quoted me at $375 per side! Sounds a bit much. WTF?!? Any of you installed heated seats in your max? How much did it cost? I'm not tryin to get ripped off here.

Help a brotha out!

you're asking a dealership to do it???

I got mine *free* when I bought my car. Negotiated my buy-price, then said I'll buy it if you throw in this stuff (and they did)

definitely go aftermarket and get away from the dealer!

The cost of parts for aftermarket will be ~$150 a seat. So with labor, your looking at $300 a seat. Or you can do it yourself and save the cash. For OEM seat heaters, $300 each. So add labor, suddenly $375 doesn't sound too bad.

This is one of those options you want to get from the factory, when they only charge you $400 for the whole deal, including heated steering wheel. But obviously, it's too late for that.

Also, consider using the factory switches if you go aftermarket. I did, wasn't too hard, and it looks 100 times better than those lame switches they give you in the aftermarket set. They are pricey though, $70 for two switches. But worth it.

Thanks for the advice guys...

I actually got through to a service manager at a dealership out here who suggested I go aftermarket as well. He recommended a place that will do it for $250 a seat (includes labor). Its called Autosound in MA.

I'm gonna go ahead and pull the trigger on this one. Oh and Kojiro_FtT, I'm definitely going with the OEM switches.

Yeah, either go to the dealer or ask DaveB - he might be able to hook you up. daveb@adpub.com, or call 888-254-6060.

As we speak, my car is in the shop getting heated seats on my front two seats.
To make a long story short, the dealer quoted me 440 for both front seats over the summer, now this fall the same service rep said no i didn't give u that quote, 440 is to cheap. So i said whatever and brought my car to a local upholstery shop, i'm getting charged 480 for both, so not bad i guess.

Just got off the phone with Autosound. I asked them if they could do the install of the aftermarket heated seats with the OEM switches. The guy says I'll have to use the corney aftermarket switches... Any ideas guys?

Trey are you getting aftermarket switches with your $480 seats??
