Window Tinting

I am thinking of getting my windows tinted on my '03 Maxima. The exterior color is Sterling Silver with a light grey interior. This is the nicest car I've ever owned. All the previous were pieces of sh**. So I want the window tint to look good. But I don't know what window tint flim is good. I never had my windows tinted. So I don't know. I don't want my window to have that purplish color when you look at it at an angle in the sunlight. It looks cheap. Does anyone have any suggestions.
Thanks.

I have 15% Llumar charcoal tint. It looks great on my Merlot Max. During the day, when the sun is shining, the windows look black. I like it. Anything lower than about 20% gets a little bit dark at night, but if you just concentrate, you will be alright.

Take a look at these pics - I also have a 2k3 Sterling Mist with frost interior, and you can take a look at how my tint looks.

i have sheer silver, and I got 35% llumar black tint..... i regret not getting it darker.... my friend has 20% llumar tints, really nice, dunno about 15% though. All i have to say for 15% is that nobody will see what u are doing in the car.......

I have the same tint on a merlot 2k2 except its 35% and yeah, i wish I had gone darker especially after seeing your pics. I dunno about 15% but 20% would've been nice. You can still really see through the windows during the day with 35%.

So.. I guess my advice would be if the cops in your area aren't total ****** about tint go for something like 15 or 20%.

Llumar Titanium tint. If you are worried about it turning purple just have it done at a reputable shop and it should come with a lifetime guarantee.

im thinking about stripping my 35% llumars and getting the 20% llumar black or 20% reflexive tint, but thats another 180 bucks for me. (acutally found a cheap tintin place around Boston) Big thing is that a few of my friends got pulled over with 20% mirrors... so I dunno... but those platinums look phat cwally.

nice tints hct67, where did you get the paint for the calipers, they look nice. And was it hectic painting them?

I went to an auto parts store which carries caliper paints. I believe they have yellow, red, blue, silver, black and orange. I actually did it over a weekend. The first day I took off the fronts and cleaned them over and over to make sure the paint would stick and not come off. Then I hung each part, 2 parts for each caliper and gave them a nice quick primer coat with the red caliper paint. After drying for about an hour I then used a brush to paint them. I coated them 3 times. The second day I did the same with the rears. So if you wanted to do it right, I would say spend the whole day doing it or break it up over two days.

I have Formula 1 28% tint on my Glacier Pearl. The shop did a really nice job. Some times I wish I would have gone with the 35% (must be getting old). I would just make sure you go to a reputable shop. Another key, is to find a place that will do the rear in 1 piece. If you go with metallic tint, chances are it will have a lifetime guarantee, and should not discolor. Good Luck

-yeah go with the one rear piece, for the price you paying for, once peice looks the best.
-HCT67 you used g2 to paint the calipers right?
