Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!
Thanks to this forum I was able to find the power again in my 2000 SE!! For months the dealer was scratching his head trying to figure out bad acceleration at 3800rpm and above. "Wait till the SES light comes on" they said. Sorry, I can't wait that long.
Doing exhaustive searches on this forum, I narrowed it down to the MAF sensor. (Thanks to a great price from DAVE B). After installing it, my power has come back, and NO LAG!!!
Thanks again everyone!!!

How do I know if there is a loss in the acceleration at the higher RPMs? My car feels a little slower than when I first got it, but is the MAF sensor really to blame or is my car just showing it's age? It's hard to tell.

Correct me if I'm wrong (which I prob. am), but if your MAF was bad in the first place, wouldn't the light be on? Also, they don't go bad do they? They just "blow"? Maybe I am wrong, if I am, lemme know and I'm gonna grab the newer one. Thanks

BTW, I looked at the actual sensor inside the MAF tube and it appears to be a thin plastic-type strip that the airflow passes. Some previous posts have said it's a thin wire, but it looked more to me like one of those Listerine Cool Strips placed sideways.

After you post more than 50 posts, your title will change.

I noticed that the edge (where the air hits it) was dirty, and a little dirty around the base, so I used electrical cleaner on it and it's super clean now. Maybe that's what was causing it to partially work? I don't have the time to swap it out with the new one for a test, so I'll just have to assume that's what was wrong with it!
