Dealer required to do TSB out of warranty?

Searched but came up emtpy (and god does the NHTSA site suck). Are TSB's only covered until the warranty expires or is it a persistant thing that has to be repaired for the life of the car (Such as a recall, etc).

TIA!!

A TSB is just a bulletin issued by the manufacturer for the dealers' use in dealing with common mechanical issues. There is no obligation on the part of the dealer to fix the problem for free once it is out of the warranty period.

Well crapstain. My tranny loves to do the 1-2 slip under hard acceleration. Can that cause any damage over a period of time (Meaning should i go and pay to fix it)?

Thanks!!

a little slip is good for that comfortable, easy shift nissan was going for. it is bad on the tranny and increases heat. the only way i can see them doing it outside of the 36k/3yr is if you were complaining about it before then. at minimum, i would have the solenoids replaced espically if you plan on keeping the car. hopefully, the damage so far wont prove to be detrimental.

Isn't a slip in the tranny covered under the drivetrain warranty?

Is the slipping between gears covered under the powertrain warranty? I've been wondering the same question; I went to my local Nissan today but the service department was closed. I couldn't get an answer.

I called my local dealer today and he said that slipping and hesitation of the transmission are covered under the powertrain warranty. I will take mine in on Tuesday to have the hesitation corrected.

I just called Nissan Customer service and they informed me that on my 2k Max SE that the factory warranty is strictly 3 year / 36k mile and no more. The only thing that i still have covered (at 50k miles) is the ECU and the cats. Is that correct (And i hope not as my tranny is acting all kinds of funky stuff up even after a flush and fill of tranny fluid).

I just had the Hesitation TSB performed under the 60,000 mile Powertrain warranty on my 2000 GLE with 51,000 miles on it.
