Clutch Makes Clicking Noise

Ok, I might be worried about nothing here but I don't believe it ever did this before. I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima 6 speed and when I depress the clutch it clicks and then when I release it theres a clicking noise. I always listen to the radio so i am not sure if this has always been there or is it a sign of something going wrong? Any and All help is appreciated!

Is your car bone stock? My clutch started making a noise after I installed a CAI... turns out the CAI was just moving around when I would accelerate.

I have an air intake but this happens all the time now even if I am not moving.

I have this problem also.I took it in to the dealer twice and they lubed the linkage but it came back the next day both times. The tech claims that its normal. The clutch feels fine though but that clicking sound does bother me a little.I might go to another dealer as soon as I get my car back.

My clutch usually makes a little grinding noise when I first take off, is this normal?

Earlier this year I noticed a clicking noise on my 2000 SE 5 speed when I would depress the clutch. If you look underneath the dash, there is a small button mounted behind the clutch pedal. When you depress the clutch all the way it pushes that button in. We all know that to start a manual transmission car you have to depress the clutch all the way. I think that button behind the clutch is part of that system. When you depress the clutch it pushes in the button allowing you to start the car. Anyway, pushing the button in with my finger I noticed it was sticking and causing a clicking noise. I tried depressing the clutch with my hand and it made the same noise when the clutch pushed it in. I lubed it up with some 3-in-1 and that did the trick. No more sticking, no more clicking.

Thanks, I will take a look at it tomorrow and see what some lube does. It's just weird that I never heard it before. Oh well thanks for the info!!
