Is this the PCV Valve? *UPDATED [again!] Pic*

http://www.skoorbs.com/images/pcvvalve3.jpg If it is, how do I get the thing out after unscrewing the green cap? I am trying needlenose pliars but it's really in there... If not, where on the pic is it?

*Updated pic* OK I circled what I think is the PCV valve in red. Is that correct? Do I seriously just put something underneath it and pry it up? That doesn't feel right...

*Updated pic 3!*

I don't think that is the PCV valve... PCV valve is located towards the back side of the throttle body next to the TPS. It has a vacuum hose sticking into it.

Yeah I think you're right - I'm thinking that the PCV valve is coming out and then perpendicular to the black "valve cover" immediately behind the throttle body. You can see the top of the PCV valve just behind this green thing...I think. The question is though how do I get it out? I've tried yanking up vertically but there is nothing to get a reach on and I don't want to break it

I think you need to pull like mad to get it out... oil it up when sticking it back in.

Neither of the circles are... you see the big thick rubber hose next to the throttle/cruise cables? Follow that and go down to see the PCV valve.

Take off the hose, then use pliers to pull it out. The valve goes into metal... if that helps.

OK I've changed the image again Would it be hose 1,2, or 3 (sorry for blurring)? And which arrow do I follow to get to it?

Also, if the clamp looks like the one at the end of the yellow arrow on hose 1 - how the heck do you undo those things? They seem to be bent around the hose and then glued there or something *shrug*. Thanks!

OK I'll follow the hose/line furthest below the group of three (hose 2 being the top one) and blue arrow. In regards to the clamp if it's like a clap on hose 1 (end of yellow), how do you get those off?

Thanks BTW!

you can remove those clamps with a set of pliers... just squeeze the two tabs and slide off...

FYI (in case this wasn't cleared up), hose #1 in the current incarnation of that picture does lead to the PCV valve. It's kinda tight getting under there, but you'll see it clamped to something going into the valve cover with a rubber grommet around it.

Also FYI, there is only 1 PCV valve on the VQ. The crankcase gases from the left-side block vent over to the right-side block (where the PCV valve sits) through another hose on the front of the engine which connects the two valve covers. (your pic shows the rear-side of the engine)

"you can remove those clamps with a set of pliers... just squeeze the two tabs and slide off...
" I must be stupid, because although I agree that this would undo the clamp, what in the world allows it to clamp together again? They just seem to kind of be glued to the hose - unless the metal is so stiff that the bend in it is what keeps it together?!

We've got one vote for Hose 1, and another for the hose two below Hose 2
