Installation of OEM CD Changer
I did a search but couldn't seem to find the answer. I just received my changer today, and read the instructions a few times, but I've noticed that it says "refer to the manual" for removing the dash and the surrounding plates. I know some of you out there have installed the changer before, and I know about the sharp edges, but I was wondering where to pry to remove the panelling so that I can take out the radio and A/C. Also, when you drilled the holes, did you put the rust proofing stuff Nissan recommends on?
here are some locations to get a shop manuel

I typed a nice long response and then it got knocked out when I inadvertently hit the clear button . . AARGH.
Short of it is this:
(For the Bose) There is the Clarion and then there is one made by spec-usa. Both are OEM replacements so they work with and are controlled by the headunit. All you do is plug the cable into the back of the headunit. Don't get an FM Modulator, the quality is not worth it and most likely you won't be able to control it from the head unit. I'm pretty sure there aren't any other Non-RF units aside from the ones I mentioned above. Try:
http://www.premieraudio.com - you'll have to call them but they have the spec-usa for the 4th gen as well as the 5th gen I believe
http://www.nissanpartsusa.com - has one made by clarion.
Seems to me that courtesy also had the OEM one for the 5th gen at a good price.
I did the install on my wife's 4th gen of the spec-usa and it works great so far.
As far as taking apart the dash, there is a site out there that gives step by step instructions for the 4th gen. It is an auto repair or stereo repair site. I found it either through the FAQ on the main board, or by searching "all forums" for cd changer (and maybe install).
If i find the links, I'll post them later.
