i changed my battery to an optima red top. the car is running fine, but the battery light still comes on while driving. any help will be appreciated.

 

Maybe the battery wasn't fully charged when you bought it or maybe your alternater has low output.

Was your battery posts tight and free of corrosive?If it is,then look like your alternator was not charging,and it's going to kill your battery.Bring your car to autozone for a free check asap,or it will kill your new battery again.Hope this will help.

 

the connectors were on tight and there was no corrosion on the terminal s. i first saw the light about 2 weeks ago, it came on while i was driving, but it went out. i then left town for a while. when i came back home the battery died.

i would bring it in to autozone, but there are none on the island.

 

Hey handssosoft, what time at Joel's tom? I saw his post on the other board, but wasn't sure of the time...I'm assuming evening since he said football will be on. I'm not sure I'm going to make it just yet, but I said I'd let him know. Hope this will solve your problem.

 

minimum velocity, i think around 5 or 6. joel isnt pau work until 4. and i have to wait for the wife to get home.
