SC400 VS my 2k2 auto max

This girl at my work keeps arguing with me that her lexus sc400 will kill my max. Even after presenting the facts to her from three different sources that state that SC400 runs 1/4 in 15.3 and I have time slips to prove that my max ran a 14.7 and I have raced a SC400 couple of times in the past that I beat without trying much, that Ive posted about, she still thinks that her lexus is so fast that can smoke my max. She even said that she beat a cobra in it which I almost dropped to my knees from laughing so hard.
I guess im going to have to teach her a lesson and race the lex.

Wow, this stuff is getting scary. For the past 3 nights every car I have encountered in a race has showed up by someone else on this board.

Last night I raced some kid in an older SC400, started at about 40 and I shut it down at 75 with me a little bit ahead of him. I have a 2k1, I'm sure your 3.5L will smoke it!

Well accordingto the statistics, his max runs a 14.7 1/4 mile and SC400's run low 15's (15.3) I would definitely give the 3.5 Max the advantage.

This chick won't win, esp. if your on the highway. I saw this one guy weaving on the highway and he passes me, then I floor it, and catch up with him easily. Were up to about 110 mph and I had to exit and the guy gave me thumbs up for spanking him.

Not sure about that highway action the Lex has about 430 hp and alot of torque (they are highway monsters) it will be close from the start and at the top end the Lex will probably pull on you.

I wouldn't be so quick to discount their abilities, they are powerful cars although a bit heavy.

Race her anyway and show her that even should you lose that her overpriced car isn't much faster or isn't faster than your car.

Good luck

I don't think you have your facts straight. The max should win.

not even any new lexus has 430 bhp as far as I know

the SC430 has a 4.3L V8, but it doesn't have no Bubb Rubb 430bhp

has more like 300-320bhp

and the old SC400 had like 280 or something...

You should have a good advantage throughout the whole race. I took one out by 5 cars to 90mph. I had him the whole race.

My borther has a '97 SC400, and i have a 95 Maxima. Anytime we race, he eats me alive. Its not even funny how fast he pulls away. We're both auto, so its not like one of us can shift better than another in these cars......Im thinking that it might be close if you go from a start.....she's got that RWD action.

Oh yea- and i agree what was stated above- "let her win, and then tap that ***!!!!"

Well there is a big difference between 97 auto and 2k2 auto aspecially in torque. Like I said Ive beet couple of the SC400 before so I know for a fact that she will loose. BTW her lex has 260 hp and 270 tq but is heavy and much slower in 1/4 mile. Its only 6.8 0-60 so I should definitely have no problem plus it has a lot higher milage so that means some power loss.

SPECIFICATIONS 2000 LEXUS SC400

ENGINE.....4.0L dual overhead-cam V8
DISPLACEMENT.....242 cu. in.
HORSEPOWER.....290 hp @ 6,000 rpm

your car is lighter do you have a MT? that would be a good advantage

U r talking about the 2000 Im talking about the older body style the 92 to 99 I believe and I provided the specs and that one is a lot slower. Plus even with this lex if you compare the manual vs manual it would still be a close race (hp to weight ratio). I think it would all depend on the driver when it comes to 2k2 and 2k3 vs the newer sc400

people comment on threads before reading even the original topic. He said SC400. So it's not a SC430, it's not a SC300, it's not a 3.0L, heck it can't even be a V6. It's not a manual, it doesn't have 430HP.
Read the darn threads, then reply.
