what the heck.. who else is having this problem? I resetted the ECU and the car chokes. I nearly totally stalled on the way to work today. it had better NOT be the MAF. I have the Injen CAI. help, please.

Does your car idle funny. Make sure your MAF sensor is connected properly. Check all Vaccume lines you may have moved, maybe somthing came out. If all Checks ok, you got Busted MAF

if your stalls o tries to stall when you floor it but might idle fine then it is probably your MAF sensor. this happens alot with our car. call DaveB. he has them for pretty cheap. do not call nissan parts department, they will try to sell you the entire system($400-$500)

some people have cleaned the MAF... search and see how they did it and you might save yourself a dealer visit.

put it this way, If you start your car and it idles at 1100, you press a little gas it idles at 1800 and stays, you press gas hard it goes up and comes right back and idles at 1500, your MAF is busted.

hmm.. i didn't get that when i just started it up... but when i started up the car, it was a rough idle... then when it idled a little longer, it was fine.

how much does it matter that i have an exhaust? would the lack of stock backpressure affect anything?

It doesnt. Check and make sure EVERYTHING is tight, and like everyone else said, check ur vacuum lines. The 2000 MAFs are way better than the 02-03 ones we are stuck with..

You sure the intake is properly sealed from the MAF to the throttle body? If air's sneaking into the engine behind the MAF, it'll stall (since the MAF won't see it coming in)...

I'd THOROUGHLY check that out before splurging for a new MAF sensor!

whoop, nevermind, someone already suggested (hoses/etc)

Clean your throttle body as well. That might cure some of your rough idle. www.motorvate.ca

I forgot to put back the little round rubber gasket on my Frankencar, but everything seems to be OK *knocks on wood*.
