2k1 AE or 2k2 SE?

yeah but when you boost the 4-gen, you are into another territory. This comparision is also for cars with similar reliabilities. Boost a 4-gen and you might was well have an extra VQ30 in the garage. Because you KNOW popping the motor is a distinct possibilty. What would a 4-gen SC on 4-5psi give you? 60hp? So 190 + 60 is 250hp. Just about what a stock 2k2+ puts out with the factory warranty intact.

I'm more coming from my car anyways vs. a 2K2. I've got a friend with a 350z and yes it's ok fast, but honestly NOT enough. However, I have rode in a boosted 4th gen. that's maybe pushing 6-7psi and untuned and *THAT* was FAAAAAAST! I'd take the power of a boosted 4th gen, hell 3rd gen. even, over a 2K-2K3(wouldn't consider a 2K4 EVER!), if I was only concerned about having more power.

Agreed about the different level....but like I said...that's IF I cared about having more power then a 2K-2K1 has stock. Seriously, I'm perfectly happy with my 2K1 vs. my friends 350z, so why would I care about a 2K2?
A VQ with <10psi is perfectly reliable. It's the owners and the dumb things they do that make them go *BOOM*. People go for a turbo kit and then fail to finish all the small details, ie Kevs' lack of a FP gauge, before they start cranking up the boost.

on everything u sed IceY2K1
Especially if you dont have alot of cash for mods. i only got my intake and clears but everyone thinks my ride is completely pimped out cuz the titanium polished 17's and my AE body kit. Not to mention the perforated leather look sik and all the other cool little things. door sills, floor mats, AE emblem, & even the Key is sik.
Not to mention my 5spd AE has taken my boys auto '02 the one time we ran em. maybe i got a betta jump or he drives like miss daisy, i dont know, but we were going at it and i came out on top.
No love lost here for the '02s and '03s, im jus love my AE

Trust me Wanger, once you get boost, the urge to turn up the screw is worse than the need for sex. And a boosted 10psi 4-gen is nowhere near the reliability of a 2k or 2k2+ na. Just the nature of the animal. Anytime you add 100hp or 50% more hp to an engine w/o buidling it, you gotta play with it with kid gloves man.

Once you driven a 3.5 to the 3.0 especially the automatic comparison you wouldnt want to go back.
As for the 3.5 vs 3.0, that's really only important if you want the performance "edge" of the VQ35. In most driving situations (esp here in NJ), a 3.0 auto has sufficient power move out. But like I stated, unless you want that 'upper 14 sec ET capability', the AE will do the job fine.

I'll just ask you this. If you owned a Nissan dealership, you sold me a 10psi boosted turbo 4-th/5-th gen that was brand new, would you extend me a full warranty?

No...I know what you're saying Jeff. NA cars have fewer parts to fail, so of course it's less likely to have problems.
I just don't consider minor problems as unreliable, unreliable is catastrophic failure, ie blowing/replacing the engine.

I'm not interested in exploring how much the engine can handle.
IMHO, the time & money spent adding a turbo are enough to offset any savings. Besides, if I want a car with Turbo I'll get a WRX.
To each their own I guess.

Exactly my point.
IF I cared about 245 vs. 222 hp difference, I wouldn't even buy a Nissan, I'd get a TL-S.

I love the body kit and the smoked headlights. Thats why I'm working as hard as I can to have Maxxtuning make the AE/Stillen look-a-like lip for us 2k2/3's. Subtle aggressiveness.
Keep me posted on the aero kit.

Instead of bickering about 3.5 vs 3.0 and HID versus whatever... just drive both of them and find out which one suits you the best in terms of budget, style of driving, and traffic (if you even ever have the chance to go ahead and floor a 3.5). Im happy with my 3.0

But I will concede that the auto-feature of my sunroof beats the "buttonholding" I have to do in order to open the sunroof on my Quest.

If one was to consider either at this present time, that is what I would do. Just my IMHO. Neither right or wrong.
Plus Coolmax has been contemplating a car purchase for 2 eons now.

This is like a no-brainer man!
The 02 SE will spank up 01 AE up and down the street.
I know they tout the AE version as having 5 more hp than the standard, but the car is no faster, it may actually be slower. With all the added fairings (which look lame IMHO) adding weight and adding aerodynamic drag, I'm sure the AE version needed that extra 5 hp just to perform as well as the standard 01 SE.
Even if you have to spend two grand more, the 02 SE is the way to go.
You get the 3.5 liter, need anyone say more?

Remote window down??
This is news to me.
How does that work - is it with the stock keyless entry remote?
