Just welcoming my self!!

Hey guys

After months of fighting with Nissan over my 02 Spec V, the BBB finally made the decision to make Nissan repurchase the vehicle from me. So… on my quest to find my next new car, I test drove about 15 cars. I then decided that I really can’t see myself in anything but a Nissan. I went to Nissan and drove everything they had (new). My mind was then set on the Altima SE, even though I hated the way the interior was really cheap. So, after a few weeks of looking at the brochure, I thought to myself why settle for something you know you are not going to really enjoy. I’ve always loved the 02 – 03 Maxima ever since I had one for a rental about two years ago. I started calling dealers asking if they had any 03 left on the lot, but with my luck, they were all gone. I went online to Autotrader and found the one I’ve been looking for!

03
15K miles
$20,150.00
Titanium Edition
6 Speed
Charcoal leather Int.
Titanium Ext.
Everything but the cold weather package (heated seats, mirrors and steering wheel) and Nav.

Only one problem, the car was in Dallas, TX and I’m in Jacksonville, FL… So, I called the guy and made the proper arrangements and flew out to TX stayed at my uncle’s house in Plaino, cruised around Dallas at night in his new Benz! The next morning hit the road at 6:00 am and made it back home a little after midnight, so a bit over 18 hours straight through. Glad to have a Maxima and glad to be here on the board.

Thanks again guys.

Yeah the car was great on the trip back from TX, great for long trips!

Yeah, I've been bit by the modding bug in the past. Before my Lemon Sepc V I had a 00 Altima SE. Slapped a turbo on it and had some fun for a while till the bills came rolling in. So, sold the kit and the car to pay off bills. So, then bought the Spec (with a lower monthly payment) and didn't bother to mod it one bit, and still looked what happened to it, POS. So, it seems like I've been going through cars like crazy but I know this one is going to last me a long time.

Victory!!!

For those who really don't want to bother clicking the above link, I've had a leaky trunk, sunroof, drivers door, 4 trasnmissions, a new motor and multiple window seals for the drivers door. I think my car was built the day before Cinco de Mayo (FYI, Sentras are made in Mexico) Not trying to offend anybody by the above comment, but I know if I was in their shoes I'd do the same thing. Screw the car, lets party!!

good buy....

but, i be thinking someone will take in a max for lemon law soon with some of the things i've seen on the org.

Especially when nissan won't budge on the missing 15hp issue, i think they could care less since our 5th gen isn't worth squat to them and their marketing anymore (they used a regergitated and revised 2k-2k1 commercial for the 2k2-2k3 run towards the sun commercial) even if it was the flagship.

Heck mazda offered to buy back their rx8's because they were cranking out less horsepower than advertised. I'd give mazda props for that. But the fact of the matter is that it shouldn't have to be a sports car for the company to ante up and give it's customers something substantial in return. It's basically bad business to advertise and flaunt 255 hp when all it really only puts out is 240 hp (crank hp).

Although I do love my max and will probably keep it until it won't run anymore, my next car won't be a nissan "flagship".

I moved to Miami about 4 years ago. But I go back home(NJ) at least 4 times a year. Have you gone to any of the meets down here in Florida. There's a few going on in Orlando and Miami.
