2k2 Navigation In A 2k1?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has put a 2K2 navigation in a 2K1 (or if its even able to be done). A friend of mine just got a fully loaded 350Z and I love the NAVI system (and the car as well). I read that Nissan has one of the best navi systems available at this time, so I would rather go OEM rather than aftermarket. Oh, and if someone's done it- how hard was it to install? Thanks in advance.

just my .02, I mean it IS possible but its hella work and will end up costing you 2x of what it actually costs because you will need to re-wire the entire car.

Easiest way out is to buy an after market navi

Thanks. I was just wondering is all. Kinda makes me wish I would have waited another year or so for the car. Thanks again for the input though.

My 2k2 Navi is VERY awesome, but by far NOT the best out there! I don't know where you got that info from. Aftermarket systems can blow my system away... and an after market system is your only real option. Expect to pay around $2,500-$3,000 installed.

It was a $2000 option from Nissan...Its going to cost you a heck of alot more to put it in a non - navi vehicle.

The 2K2 Max SE I test drove had Navi (as well as, heated seats, wheel, mirror, power passenger seat, leather, BOSE, range, dishwasher, etc,...) and I almost bought it. But then, I was told what the lease payments would be and nearly passed out. Needless to say, I'm saving about $160/mo on my base SE.

Anyway, depending on how much you paid for your 2K2 (and how many miles you have), you're better off selling your Max and trading up OR focusing on getting an aftermarket Navi system.

Peace.

I use a $40 Autopilot talking navigator. You can buy a non-talking one
for $20 and It covers all 50 states. I've been using it for years and it
never let me down. You always buy a map and save two grand.
