HID install question? (pics)

Im thinking of buying this hid kit. It's 4300k (d2s philips) and hella ballasts. This is a brand new kit which i can get for around 300...
Looking at this kit, im kinda confused on the how the harnesses connects to my current wiring in my 2k1. Well the guy says the install should not be a problem, but just wondering how would i install these? Do i have to cut the wires and splice them to my factory wires? He also mentioned that i have to connect it to the battery??? Im

here is the pic...

I do understand that i have to buy these casper shields to fit into my h4 housing..

hello,

I've also seen your post @ hidforum.com. I was looking at the same setup. Ideally it should work. From what I read, we have to connect the power to the battery, but hook up a relay to the factory harness to ballast to make up for the difference in voltage/watts? cuz our factory harness is a little weak.

Basically, the ballast has only two wires positive and negative, thus you would lose your highs. anyways, I am still thinking about this setup. Good luck, I hope I shed some light.

Regarding the relay, probably have more luck in the OEM retrofit section of HIDFORUM.com

let me know what you decide.
