steering difference in 6spd vs auto
i have never driven a 2k2 auto or 6spd but after reading some reviews i thought maybe some real owners would be able to answer a question i have about the steering in the 2k2+ maximas. i read somewhere that the steering feels lighter in the 6spd and that the steering in the auto max feels better (firmer). can anybody attest?
I believe the difference is that the SE models (which are the only ones with a stick) come with the "sports suspension package", whereas the GXE and GLE don't.
I have no idea what that package actually does, or if it's just a marketing gimick.
Although, a friend of mine bought the GLE after test driving both and said the SE was "tighter", but the GLE "rode smoother".
Dunno what the actual difference is though.

it should be the same just cruisin - I doubt Nissan would bother changing the steering firmness of auto vs. 6 speed Maximas. Under acceleration, a 6 speed will put a little more power to the ground, maybe that will affect the feel of steering somewhat? There is the variable steering thing as well, which makes it soft at low speeds, more firm at highway speeds too
