What Battery ??

Has NE1 replaced their battery yet ? The OE battery is rated at 585 cca. I'd like to get
something more powerful that will physically fit. The only thing I have found is the DieHard
Gold rated at 640 cca. Any info. would be appreciated !!

a lot of people rave about "optima yellow top" or something like that... search on "optima" or "yellow" and see what people are saying.

or even search on "battery" and see what they recommend. You'll find an interesting story about an exide (I think that's right) battery that exploded (I guess he won't be recommending that one )

The only reason I would say to go with the Optima Yellow top is if you have a big audio system and listen to it with the car off. It is adeep cycle battery and it is expensive. I would go with the Sears Die Hard, they are reasonably priced, have a good warranty, and are always highly rated.

I just had a free 30 point check at my Nissan dealer and they found that my battery wasn't cranking at full power. I don't remember the numbers, but I had them replace the battery with OEM battery under warranty (pro rated). $25 installed. They figured that it was defective. When this one goes I will probably go with Die Hard. Had one in my 91 Max and no problems.

Optima makes a red top battery for cars without hi power stereos. They are maintenance free and leak proof. Autozone carries them or you can order them online.

Wow, I have the exact same setup right now, same battery and stinger terminals. Where did you get the side terminals to attach your stock connection?

interstate owns optima....look up any interstate authorized dealer, or interstate official store and you can buy the side terminal posts for $5. i'm almost sure you can also find them at any auto parts store, but do NOT, and i mean DO NOT look for side terminal posts, because that automatically means GM to most stores so you'll get a hexagon shaped terminal with a screw. most side mounts are rings that get screwed in. you don't want that. you want a top round terminal post so that you can attach to the sides. as you can see from my negative side post, i ordered the side terminal posts first, saw they were wrong, and then ordered round posts. i connected the side post anyway just cause it's shiny and looks nice.

also, an FYI, when you screw them in, look to see which is which. + and - posts are actually different sizes, with negative being smaller than positive, so screwing in the wrong one will leave you with a loose power cable.

your welcome
