rotors

Why does the Maxima seem to warp rotors so bad? From what I have heard this problem is not limited to stock rotors. I have heard the Maxima will warp after market rotors as well. I am looking to upgrade to the Stillen rotors, but am a little concerned that they may warp. Does anyone have any experience with Stillen rotors?

The stock maxima rotors are really thin.. and most aftmrk rotors are pretty thin also... I have 300zx rotors and I heavily use them daily and they're not warped, they are considerably thicker than max stocks, im doing the 3000GT rotors next.

Yeah, stock rotors are undersized in every way. The heat generated can't be dissipated fast enough and the result is a warped or cracked rotor.

How hard are the 300zx rotors to come by? Any fitment issues?

lemme tell you... youre gonna have to get everything ready... instead of like me and many others who didnt and had to go running around 1am at night for things....

the 300zx rotors are thicker so you WILL have to shave the lower control arm.. you'll see when you match the rotors to the stock hub..

You'll have to trim the radius of the rotor to 3mm So it fits with the 300zx caliper (since the caliper mount is a bit off from the ZX's)

You'll need 300zx caliiper bolts with some extra washers since they are longer than stocks and will rub the rotor

get SS lines custom made for the max since youre banjo fittings wont work with ZX calipers

Make sure you have a nice pair of calipers that are rebuilt with care, you DO need the 300zx calipers of course to use with these rotors.

Bleed the system religously

To this day my pedal still FEELS spongie... ( I NEED HELP WITH BLEEDING BRAKES!! PLEASE)... with the car OFF.. its not spongie... it doesnt even budge... when I had leaky lines... with the car OFF it slowly sank to the floor.. But now with the car on.. its about 2 inches from the metal floor when i measure it ... I think STOCK it should be 3 1/4 inches from the floor.. the pedal feel is a lil off... I have to press down a lil further then the caliper will grab... but 80 - 0 mph stops are a breeze with ABS kicking in Right away..

Stock 3000GT is made by Brembo and I don't think it'll fit our cars.
