Well I made my first impulse buy this week and traded my 02 Max for a 04 Mazda RX8. Had I planned the buy I would have sold all of my aftermarket stuff but I wanted the new car bad and just settled on the dealer taking everything. Thanks for all the great info during my ownership of the car you all truly make up for the sucky dealers here in Albuquerque.

A coworker of mine just took delivery of his new RX-8. He had it on order for months. He was disappointed with the low end torque.

Nordic Green 6speed with the GT package and Appearance package along with bose 6 in dash but no nav. The low end was something to get used to but the power in the mid and high range plus the handling of the car is so nice. I will miss my max though as I wish I could have kept both.

Wasn't Mazda buying back RX-8s because they made a big error in hp ratings... I think they were offering full money back or free servicing for 3 years plus $500... I am not really sure what the deal was.

I wouldn't give the car back for ~9 hp

The RX-8 officially went on sale in early July. For customers who already have taken delivery or for those who ordered the car prior to Aug. 26, Mazda will offer free scheduled maintenance for the new car’s entire warranty period – worth an estimated $1,200 – and also give owners a $500 debit card. If owners still believe they’ve been irrevocably wronged, Mazda will buy back the car for the original purchase price.
