Random Question.....

OK i was vacumming out my car and i looked at the gas pedal and under neath it was a plastic block that restricks the pedal from going all the way to the floor..some wierd factory option...now what would happen if i removed that...would i get more throttle or am i just being retarted!!

I wouldn't call you retarded, but it is kinda wishful thinking. I don't think the block restricts the throttle but rather limits the actual pedal's travel. Therefore stopping the throttle plate from opening past WOT.

I know that that stopper is part of a recall on the early 2k2's. We didn't have a sufficient stopper, so we could actually cause the gas pedal to "over travel." "This could cause the engine malfunction indicator lamp to come on and the engine speed to be severely limited. If this occurs unexpectedly, it could lead to a crash. "

Quotes come straight from my recall notice.

Don't you touch that block! That things keeps people with Herman Munster shoes from ramming their foot through the floor.
