Clear bra damaged............

Hey guys, man am I ****ed. Somthing hit the front of my 2K2 this weekend on the hood, and went through my clear bra and scratched the paint on my hood!! I reveiwed my warranty and it is for 4 years (mine is 1.5) and seems to say the the bra is guaranteed to protect the paint as long as the object doesnt dent the metal. Best I can tell it did not dent the hood.......is about the size of your small finger nail and definately took off the paint. Anyone experience crap like this? My warranty says I must turn into insurance and it will pay the deductible up to 1000. Any input would be great. I will definatley need a new hood piece for my clear bra after taking care of the scratch. I plan on calling my installer tomorrow.

Will they pay the subsequent increase in your insurance premiums? If not, this sucks.

Besides that, I doubt your insurance will cover a paint chip. Sorry to hear about the bad luck.

I am sorry to hear about that also. I recently had the clear bra added to my Max. Check with Stongard first and see what they might suggest. Good luck and please post your results.

I spoke with my installer today (clearguard) and he is mailing me a warranty claim form. He said would be no problem to replace the the clear bra ( hood piece) under warranty. He also said it is up to me how I want to handle the scratch on the hood.......true he said the warranty covers up to 1000 of a deductible ( mine is 500). As long as the company will stand behind the 500 bucks of my deductible shoud I pursue getting it repainted? Can they match the paint by just painting a small portion and not repainting entire hood? I live a 3+hours away from my bra installer.......and I would be nervous letting just anybody remove the bra to repair.....besides my installer would probably have to remove anyway to see the damage for themselves. I guess I will just get some Nissan
touch up paint, take it to the installer and let them remove the ruined hood bra, touch up scratch and re-install new hood piece. We all know how crappy that touch up paint can look though.......my installer was surprised to here about my misfortune.....said it was rare to have a bra nicked down to the metal. Im still ****ed!!
