Whoever doesn't jump on that *GONGA* deal for $1075 is .

If I didn't have JICs already, I'd be ALL over that.

coilovers give you the option of adjusting the height of the car. these allow a 1" drop minimum and up to a 2.5-3" drop....wild guess where i'm setting it.

but then coilovers can get separated into 2 categories. basic coilovers are just the spring and the thread. "better" coilovers come with a strut/spring combination, aka coilover system. since they are designed for coilovers only, they are also designed to handle the extreme pressure and spring rate due to the possibility of someone setting the coilovers to the lowest possible height. these cattman coilovers have the same spring rate, no matter what height. that's called linear spring rate, vs. variable (in other words, based on your height, you can have dif. spring rates simply on how much time the strut has to react)

price is always the biggest issue. basic coilovers (first one i mentioned) can be had for about 300-350, used going for much less. and again, that is JUST the spring. coilover systems include both strut and spring, plus the advantage of offering a superior spring rate. but then that price jumps to 1000+, very rarely seeing $1000.
peoples choices are mainly decided based on their budget. want to spend 350 or 1200. you pick.

Mine are arriving Tues. Can't wait to weigh em vs stock components.

Thanks for the pics. Now I see how the top pieces fit. Couldn't tell that from Cheston's orig shots.

Read the 3rd post above this one (PoLo's).

Basically, you need four struts to be installed in your car, when running, at all times. The Cattman coil-over system includes struts, if that's what you're asking.
