Everone email Energy Suspension!!!!! Polyurethane motor mount inserts!

..and inquired about motor mount inserts for the VQ35. They seem to think they will have something around December.

I installed a set of these on a Spec V and completely eliminated wheel hop--not to mention virtually eliminated engine movement. The inserts slide onto the existing bushings making them very easy to install, and still allowing for some slight movement (vibration dampening) while limiting the torquing of the engine under load. Best $40 you can spend on a Spec V.

Everyone call and request em!

Yeah, I guess that would help. Unfortunately it's not toll free--- (949)361-3935.

Or you can email hyperflex@energysuspension.com

If this would kill the wheel hop, I would fall in love with my car again. Great find bro.

good news....just spoke with Hoyt (sp?) Vandenberg at Energy Suspensions......he is the marketing director there and I expressed interest for all of us here for 3.5 motor mounts....

He told me to have myself and EVERY 3.5 owner on here to email him @ hvandenberg@energysuspension.com and he will get the ball rolling.

He conveyed to me that he is an avid Nissan fan and knows quite a bit about our 3.5's, including the wheel hop/torque steer problem and feels that this part will have TREMENDOUS impact on our cars..

MODS: please sticky this thread...we need 3.5 support!

I think Place Racing makes some, but they are fairly expensive. These inserts were around $40 and worked well while keeping the stock mounts.

Just want to say thanks to Steve for the help installing the mounts in my specV. It's probably one of the best mods I have so far. I have no more tourqe steer, NO more wheelhop and hardly any vibrations unless the AC is on. Install wasn't bad, only took about an hour. For $40 I couldn't have gotten a better mod.

I definately emailed. If I can spend less than $100 and get rid of 50%+ of the wheel hop, it is worth it.

They allow for some stock flex and stop it beyond a point. Translation: will allow for natural vibration of the engine and under load remain sold and not give beyond the point where they engage.

Means: Minimal extra vibration with minimal engine twist under load! Best of both worlds! Cheap and easy to install.

I renamed the thread to (hopefully) draw more attention.

I'm not sure but I imagine the Altima would be a different mount (cept for 6th gens.)

Edit: Dammit, can't rename my own thread! WTF is up with that!!!!

Can a mod please rename it??

Well email send. But aren't our Maxima have one of those liquid fill motor mount? Can someone explain to me how are Energy Suspension going to make an insert type of mount for our Maxima? Unless they make a complete mount like PR,someone correct me if I'm wrong.

that's just it...don't bother calling....we want this in writing so Hoyt can go down to the engineering dept and be like "Look, I got X number of people representing the maxima community who want these made, what can we do for them?"

this is the feedback and response that we need to make this happen....like I said, I spoke to this guy for about 15 min on the phone....he is very much "in tune" with our maximas and subsequently their shortcomings...he wants this to happen also, but he needs demand for them, thats where the emails come into play-they are substantial PROOF!

keep the emails comin guys....this WILL happen!

Just sent an email to Hoyt. I have a question though. I am not to familiar with how these work.

Are these easy to change yourself? Would these work better than the actual polyurathane replacement mounts?

Steve (t56gen3) claims the install is simple and under an hour to do......the mounts are made out of urethane so I am not sure about that part of your question

oh and, thanx for the support

Let me clarify a bit here.... The ones for the Spec V (and I assume ours to be quite similar based on the similarity in design between the two cars) are for (what I call) the torque mounts----these are the ones that are on the bar running down the middle of the bottom of the engine bay that bolts at the core support and firewall. At least in the Spec's case, they aren't for the mounts on either side of the engine (which I believe are the fluid filled ones.) The ones on the side are the main supports for the weight of the engine, while the center ones are there to control movement of the engine front to back (under load.)

Since they are inserts only they are removable and very easy to change. Actual solid poly mounts will transfer ALL engine vibration to the chasis, as they truly don't flex much at all. IMO this would defeat the purpose of buying this level of vehicle to begin with. Also, these would be MUCH cheaper than full urethane mounts (SpecV's get em for ~$40/set.)

sorry for the confusion, but I may not be speaking the right language.

I thought that these were some type of replacement bushing on the motor mount. I have no idea how it works. This is all new to me.

So you are saying these are motor mounts? I was under the impression that the motor has to be lifted to install the mounts. I don't know. Maybe you can start from scratch and explain it to me. I want something to stop the wheell hop and I really don't care on the cost.

What would be the best replacement mod for this situation.

Thanks for being patient.
