Foglights dont work now??????

Ok I had the foglight rewire on my 2k2 done and it worked fine. well when I switched out lights (for a set with the orange already cleared from) then I had to undo the wire tap. well it sat for a couple days before I got a chance to hook it back up and now the stupid fog lights dont work at all???? All the other lights work fine I pulled everything apart and checked all the connections and made sure they were tight.

Does anyone have any clue what it could be? I also checked the the fuses and those are all good to. So any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Billy

what probably happened is that when you installed them you probably touched the bulb. and those lights are super sensitive and the oils from your skin will mess those things up real quick. that's what they said happened to mine. so next time you install them dont touch the bulbs.

I've never touched the Fog light bulbs...they are the only bulbs not working...the only thing I have come anywhere near is the wiring which is all tight and well connected.

tomorrow when I get the chance I will probably be totally undoing all the wires and hooking the fogs backup properly and try to go from there!!

Any other ideas?????

By the way is your Hi -Bean on. That can cause the fog to not turn on. This might be it, this has happen to me.

with the foglight rewire the foglights should stay on even with highbeams.

I re-wired mine, and the fogs work fine without the headlights, but they still turn off when the highbeams are on.

Interestingly, when I re-wire a Probe GT I used to have the fogs would stay on with the high-beams.

Why don't manufacturers just make them this way?

Not on the 5th gen. I think there is law that you can have only 4 llght on at a time. unless, he had it rewire to turn on with the hi. I know the bmw can can do this.

It's possible when you left it hanging a couple of days the wire shorted against the body of the car.

Check the fuses. If they look ok, I'd suggest reverting back to the stock connection configuration. If that doesn't work something is really F'ed and will require a meter to diagnose or a led and a 1K ohm or greater resistor.
