Another bad descion

Well I bought my 2K2 with a Greddy catback already installed, I hated the coffee can looking muffler and it was a little loud for me (I'm 36) but the performance is excellent. So today I had the muffler removed and replaced with a Flowmaster 40 series muffler.

BIG MISTAKE.....It sound like a F'N beehive in my car, I hate it with a passion. Looks like I will be putting two mufflers on Ebay.

Any suggestions, cause my head hurts.

Damn that sucks. Look for a post by y2kse about his muffler recommendation. It may be what you are looking for. I believe it was the Dynomax Super Turbo. I think juice is running that also and is happy.

BTW, I'm 36 and I love the sound of the Greddy. Not loud at all. Matter of fact my wife and kids like it also. Maybe you had and exhaust leak.

Ha, you old bastard !!!! I am just too critical. I want the performance but not the noise. Heres the kicker, 2morrow my Cattman Y is coming, it will be even louder !!!!

I will look into dynomax though, thanks.

You need to use the 50 series with at least an 18" resonator...probably more like 22"...but that's just my opinion.

Problem solved, bought a walker free flowing muffler and had it installed in less then 20 minutes. Nice quiet ride and still got ballz to spare.

Oh, my Cattman Y came today..!!!!!

Install on Saturday.

hey, your talking to a guy whos got nothing but a pipe from the exhaust manifold all the way back to an N1 with the BIG tip. I'm thinking of redoing it with a frankencar catback, because the shop that did this custom setup did a craptastic job.

Try the HKS set-up. It looks like the factory muffler on steroids, but isn't obnoxiously loud like some of the other exhausts I've heard. Only drawback is it felt heavier than stock
