OH YEAH!! My friend got a G35C auto.
A good friend of mine got a G35 Coupe auto. After congratulating him, I asked him if he wants to run with my Max. He said yes so stay tuned.
Anyone want to guess how I'll do against his G?

Yeah, the G35C runs low 14's in the 1/4 mile and they have 275 hp, "supposedly". Should have bought the manual, man.

The VQ35 engine is torquey enough that it can put down times just as good as a lot of the manual drivers out there. blu just ran a 13.7 in his 2k2 auto with NA bolt-on's and street tires only.

I'm really pumped. My friend drove my Max last year and was really impressed with the VQ35DE. After having driven one of his friend's TL-S his comment to me was, "your car pulls WAY harder than the TL-S".
Anyhow, because he's an active single with NO kids, the Max and G35 sedan arent his style but the G35C had him seduced since it hit the market.
As for the auto tranny, he said the deal was too good to pass up.
I have every intention of putting our runs on video. AND, we'll probably switch cars and then race again just to put things into perspective.
Stay tuned guys.
Peace.

2 car lengths. I tried one on my way home from work. I jumped all over him but he ended up 2+ on me. That G35 is sweet. He was in an auto and mine is auto so, apples to apples on the tranny but they do have more horsies. Hope you take him though......

I believe that the newer automatic transmissions can actually hold a small, ever so tiny candle to the manual transmissions today. I drove a 2k2 Max SE auto, and those things are swift. The transmission doesn't shift nearly as sloppy as I would have expected an auto to.
I think the auto in the Z and G35's is pretty comparable to a manual (in straight-line tests, that is). Autocross an automatic = lose.
Btw, tell your friend congrats on buying a G35c. Those things are so savage.

With all the traffic during the week, sometimes its hard justifying buying a manual. Wish I could have an auto during the week and a manual during the weekends. Besides, most car these days are probably built 80% auto. Just a sign of the times.

Very Nice car.
I've pretty much made up my mind with a G35C. Yes I will get an auto too. I have a 45 minute commute each way to and from work, and if my wife and I ever go out to dinner and drinks, I want to make sure she can drive home if I can't. I wish I could have a manual, but I have to think of what is going to be the best fit.
I guess we could take her Jeep when we go out, but why have a G35C and not drive it as much as I could?
just my $0.02.
