Honda Convert, Have Question

I just sold my Honda Accord that I've had for 8 years, and I never want another Honda. I like the 5th Generation Maximas and have read many great reviews on them. I was wondering about how much to budget to get a 2000 Maxima SE with less than 45,000 miles. I have access to the Louisville Auto Auction and can get cars for $250 over auction price so I was wondering what I should expect to pay. Any guesses.

Thanks,
Shane

I'd say for a 2k-2k1 SE you're looking at somewhere between $13000 and $15000. I'm sure opinions on this will vary, but that's the range I'd expect.

Im sure after driving a Honda for 8 years, he wants to try something new... I know I would after driving anything for 8 years.

as far as for a 2k-2k1 SE, i know people who have gotten them at auctions for around 5-10k...

I put 165,000 miles on my Accord, and it was good to me until about 100,000. Many of my problems were probably a result of my own modification mistakes, it was my first car so I did a lot of stupid things.

However, after 100,000 the sunroof leaked and was fixed 7 times, the clutch went out without warning, I was stuck on the sixth floor of a parking garage, the master cylinder leaked, the car started leaking oil, the lock assembly on the drivers door broke and led to a $600 repair bill just to get the door open and replace a 25 dollar part, the cv joints needed replaced twice, the seat brackets broke on the driver's seat while going around a corner, and no I'm not fat, it locked in first gear twice, the muffler blew up, yes blew up I though somebody shot me, O2 sensor went out twice, shocks went bad, three of the power window motors stopped, two exhaust brackets broke, both of the front fender well liners ripped out while driving down the interstate, a/c stopped working, fuel and temperature guages quit working, and I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones that I remember.

I was hard on the car, so I imagine that many of the issues were of my own fault, but with the legendary Honda reliability, I was disappointed. I learned a lot about fixing things in the process.

Thanks for the replies so far

Hey bud. Give me an email. I have a 2000 Max SE for sale here in Louisville. I'd love to sell it to an Org member. It's icelandic pearl white with all options except heated seats. I have even dynamatted the whole car. Excellent condition. I have all the paperwork on the car and it's been give Mobil 1 pure synthetic oil every 3k miles. Give me an email at davidwhoney@insightbb.com or call me at 502-876-3237. The car is sitting on the corner of Hillcrest(continuation of Zorn) and Brownsboro.
