New Member????

Im thinking about picking up a 2001 Maxima SE with bose cd, 17" wheels and no leather with 18,500 miles in nyc for $12,500. Going to take a final look at the car tomorrow.

1 - Is this a good asking price for the car?

2 - Anything i should look out for, in terms of common problems with this year, make, model?

3 - What are some general maintenance costs that i am looking at for this car?

Thanks in advance

I own a used car lot in Mass, and I can tell you that that's a low a$$ price. At the Nissan auction in CT they do a lot more than that. I got someone an 01 GLE with 31k and I paid around $15,500. And that's at a dealers only auction. If it's a dealer, it could be a unibody/frame car. Do a carfax. If it's clean, buy it.

By the way, great price, great deal, no problems to look forward to other than new rotors pretty soon.

I have a 2K1 and the only problems that i've had are warped rotors and MAF problems like everyone else. The MAF problems may be due to the K&N filter that I had in there. That's still up for debate.
