BOUGHT A 2003 today!!

Hey guys!!! I just traded in my 96 GLE and moved on up I bought a 2003 Maxima SE Titanium Edition!! It's an automagic with the titanium and meridian packages, lustre grey. I haven't driven it much yet, but so far...WOW!! Does anyone know the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times on these cars stock?

I've been thinking about a new car for a while now, and I jus love Maximas too much Are there any facts or info that I MUST know as a new owner of the 2003 model? (I've got the 4th gen info down like the back of my hand, but I'm new to the 2003 game)

Please lemme know!!

Thanks, lata guys.

Congrats on the move up, you will be very satisfied with the car. The 5th gen is a step above the 4th gen, unlike the 6th gen compared to the 5th gen.

As far as 0-60 you're looking at 6.3-6.6 sec and 14.7-15.1 at 91-94 mph in the 1/4.

May I suggest you switch the stock oem tires, and go with another quality tire before winter strikes. Just my .02

That 1/4 mile time is CRAP! Even I achieved 14.908 on my stock 2K2 auto Max GXE. The best on here stock is 14.6 w/an auto.

I didn't say that it was accurate. They guy asked what the stock time was, and from searching on the web, that was a link that I found. Whether its "crap" or not, I don't know...I've never personally ran my car at the track. I just answered the question.

FYI, a good place to look is http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=45 and http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=46 for 1/4 mile times. I've gone to the track 5 times so far w/my Max. Will be hitting the track w/my Z when it re-opens year.

"As far as 0-60 you're looking at 6.3-6.6 sec and 14.7-15.1 at 91-94 mph in the 1/4. " I'd think that 0-60 is optimistic for an auto. I'd heard it was 6.4 for a manual but I haven't really researched it at all.

Anyway hope you like the car I love my 00 and I'm toying with the idea of buying an 02 or 03 to replace our 93 sentra.

Congrats! You got yourself a great car. Now it's time for that RSB and FTSB. IMO, they are the first things any Max owner should do to improve the car. The combo gets rid of that floating feeling around corners.

Are you sure you are not running on 5 cylinders cause last time I went to the track my worst time was a 14.9 and best of 14.7 that is auto bone stock. The 6 spd's are easily capable of low 14's, you have to get your facts straight.

Don't flame me for using C&D results cuz I know they get paid off by some companies (definitely not nissan). When they tested the 5th gen 6spd, they got these times: 0-60 6.0s, 1/4 14.7s@97, 0-100 15.7s, 5-60 6.5s, 70-0 182ft, 0.82g.

I love showing these numbers to my friend with a wrx. He thinks cuz it's a wrx it's unstoppable. I keep telling him...350z motor!!! the vq35 shats on the wrc or matches it in 0-100, 5-60, braking!, and the skidpad! (and 1/4 trap). Scooby aint shat without the awd

Why don't you read the posts completely before you try to tell people to get their facts straight...like I said in post #12:

"I didn't say that it was accurate. They guy asked what the stock time was, and from searching on the web, that was a link that I found. Whether its "crap" or not, I don't know...I've never personally ran my car at the track. I just answered the question."

Me too!

I too just became an owner of a 2003 Titanium (funny, the forum wouldn't let me abbreviate Titanium as T-i-t-period). SE AUTO. Loaded except navigation. I am moving from a F-150 so things should be a big change for me. I am a road warrior who puts about 40K a year on the car. I am glad I found this forum as it appears very similar to a F150 site I used extensively. My first mods were winter mats and a K&N. My next project will be moving my Sony XM. I will be asking many stupid questions here so please bear with me.
