Thinking of getting some better headlights

Im thinking about getting some better headlights for my 00 Maxima, nothing expensive like < $100, im not just getting it for looks, I need brighter headlights than the stock ones. I was thinking about getting these: http://www.custommaxima.com/PIAAHeadlight.php

and of course they are pretty much what I want and I showed my friend who knows a lot more about cars than I do and suggested to just get this one off EBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2443281088

Im one of the people who thinks you get what you pay for when you spend $13 on headlight bulbs so I am sort of hesitant to get those lights off Ebay. Does anyone have any experience with cheap headlights like those? Should I save the $60? or go with the trusted site/brand?

The 9004 and H4 are not for HID. The 9005 is for HID high beams. The 9004 is both high and low beam in one bulb. The H4 is for your car as stated on the webpage.

Did your friend TRY these bulbs? They look GREAT, but almost too good to be true at $12

OK, now im kinda confused, so I dont get H4? How come on CustomMaximas they sell H4s? What does H4, 9004, 9004ST mean exactly? Can someone just do a quick overview on headlights for the 00 Maxima? It uses the same bulb for low and high beam right?

the diffirence in the bulbs is how they connect to the wire harness. the connection you need in on the 9003ST trust me i just put those on a few days ago. the same bulb is used for both beams like with the stock bulb.

I agree with the silverstars. Great bulbs for $20 a piece. I'll have to warn you though. You are going to end up spending more money for fog light bulbs because they are going to look really dull next to the silverstars.

H4 and 9003 are the same thing. its one light for both high/low beam. i have silverstars and i really cant tell that much difference from the cool blue bulbs also made by sylvania. the silverstars seem to a tad whiter when looking at them but they look the same on the road to me.

There are silverstars in H3 available, (I'm just assuming the 4th and 5th gen uses the same bulb size for fogs) If not.. then just disregard me.

Just by reading the posts, I can see that many people just post not knowing what they're talking about.

Anyway, this is what you want to get:

here is the response from Sylvania customer service.
so now go buy both the headlamps and fogs, people.
about $80 for all four. i may ask her about a groupdeal

Hi Jason,
Yes, the H3 SilverStar will compliment your headlights. The H3ST is of the same color temperature as the headlights so it will be the same whiteness and brightness. Most of the larger automotive retail stores have recently order this part but it may take a while for it to be distributed to the individual stores from the main distribution centers. If you can't find it locally, I can place the order for you or you can order from our online performance shop.

Didn't know OSRAM made Sylvania. They make excellent light bulbs, like Phillips. But PIAA is still better, I think.

I have those Piaa Xtreme White bulbs. They are brighter than stock. Not as white as real HIDs though.

In my opinion, I would stay away from eBay bulbs. I've gone through about 7 or 8 pair of cheapo bulbs in last 2 years. They burn out, you pay shipping to send it back to the company, shipping to get it back. Not worth it. Shortest life span I had w/ Piaa bulbs were 1 year and 2 months. Longest lifespan w/ Piaa bulbs is almost 3 years. Still working good.
