Lack of Power TSB

Any 2002/2003 Maxima owners in Northern NJ who have successfully convinced a dealer to perform the TSB to fix the lack of power (MAF and ECM reprogramming) under warranty? If so, which dealership did you right?

The dealership closest to me is giving me a hard time about performing the service.

Thanks!

Michael

yeah, hilltop nissan. they did it. they actually replaced my MAF sensor and did the upgrade on my 2003. the tsb says to only change MAF on 2002, so they did extra work for it. lol

they are on rt. 10 east hanover - morris county.

I'm not in nortern NJ, but it's really easy to determine whether they'll perform the lack of power TSB. I just went to the dealer yesterday and asked them to hook up the CONSULT-II to my car and pull the ECM part number. This was free of charge and took only a minute. I called ahead and they just told me to come on down. Once you get the ECM part number, check the TSB and see if your ECM is on the list that the TSB applies to. My ECM wasn't on the list. Bummer.

Get the TSB at http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb/

Once you confirm your ECM is on the list, you should have all the firepower you need.

GFYS12 -- I live nice and close to Hilltop Nissan. Did you have to convince them you were having engine power problems? The dealership I went to (will remain nameless for the moment) was skeptical about doing anything without my proving a serious problem.

Thanks again!

Wow, thats alot of leg-work for you to go through. I just went in with the TSB number and once they got the parts in, they replaced the MAF and reprogrammed the ECM no questions asked.

Yeah, I just went through the legwork because I didn't want to go through all the bother of dropping off my car just to hear them say the TSB didn't apply to my ECM. Also, I try to avoid handing my car off to the mechanic like the plague...even though it's under warranty, I prefer the peace of mind of knowing it's done right whenever possible.

i printed the tsb right from the nissan site and showed it to the guy. he said oh yeah we'll take care of it. i would describe the problem and show them the print out. say you heard from someone else who had it done.
