Frankencar exhaust installed...

Just got mine catback installed today. I am very impressed w/the quality and please with the "deep" exhaust sound from it. It's stock quiet at idle...no droning sounds at any RMPs except when accelerate hard. With the Injen intake and this catback setup, the sounds were just very satisfactory to the ears. As in any gains in power, I notice some but the sound and looks alone were enough to be satisfied.

There should not be any fitment issues (I was watching through the installation process). Since I had the SFC's stage 2 installed, my installer had to put spacer between the underbody cross member for cleareance. FYI: The exhaust system is still currently on sale for $440 shipped. Be the first 20 people to benefit from this great deal!

Thanks for sharing

So there's no drone at all? If you're just cruising around and/or casually accelerating from a stop - is it loud at all or only when you go WOT?

no droning/moning at cruising speed...very quiet exhaust for an aftermarket piece, IMO. Sorry, I do not own a digital camera. Go to their website and check it out.

They look nice in those pics. They should have the wav file on the website before they put all of those pics on there IMHO.

I think it's just the reflection from the flash. Look at the pic of this AE Max.

I also too have the Frankencar exhaust. It is all that. I have had three different mufflers installed before hand to try and get that droning out, but this exhaust by far is the quitest, perhaps quiter than the stock at idle. I will go to track and see if I lost or gained any with this exhaust. Max se auto 1/4 mi.= 14.4 @ 97mph.

Why, are you still waiting for your Intake from them? LOL

limsandy,
I had never dyno my car...and probably not in the near future. Like I had mentioned before, I did noticed some power increases but that wasn't really my goal for this setup. I bought it for the looks/sounds/and for the stainless steel material of the exhaust system for durability.

there is liek no additional sound what so ever...
kinda odd.. im use to sound hahaha.. its just as quiet as stock.. theres no low rumble at all...
also it seems to have made my intake sound alot louder.. hmmm but i know the exhaust isnt making any sounds cuz all the sound is coming from infront of the passenger car..

my butt dyno says i gained some HP and TQ.. i had 6 people in my car last night and i was accelerating pretty well in 6th gear last night...

this exhaust is pretty nice!

Cool, I love the sound of this exhaust system. Mine was very quiet even at highway speed (80mph) no noises from the back except for the intake noise when pressed. One thing I noticed was that my installer installed the b-pipe backward. He bolted the resonator side right off the cat...which was why I had clearance issue before. But I think I like this setup better 'cause I believe it quiet down the exhaust coming out from the cat before exit to the muffer section. This will definately help control the noise for my future mods for the free-flow cat. and y-pipe.

How can you be so sure it's not from the flash? Look at the license plate glare.

Wait, are we talking about the blue reverse lights or the flash on the reflectors?

Refer to post number 7 in this thread. He was asking about the tail lights.

Dave was asking which taillight bulbs, normally that would mean the back-up lights since you can't see the bulbs behind the red reflectors.

Tail lights are tail lights and backup lights are backup lights. He did not mention backup lights in his post. he could have been talking about all of the bulbs in the assembly but he did not specify backup light bulbs.

He was talking about the actual tail-lights, which are the 2 complete units of lights in your, you guessed it, tail lights (what else do you call them, back headlights?). So I am sure that he was referring to the red/orange stripe effect, which is caused by the flash of the camera.

If you look closly at the directions on the Frankencar exhaust you can see on the photo of the resonator a tag , It says Mussa performance. From what I hear Mussa is a top notch race team and there products are very pricey. This is one of the reasonably priced exhaust for $440 shipped. By the way do's anyones exhaust tips have the Frankencar logo?? I have one on each tip. nice touch.

yup, my tips have the logo too. I noticed a burning smell since the installation. Is the the gasket that is seating/burning from the pipe's connection?

I was just wondering if the14.4 is with stock or do you have work done to your car. I would imagine that you have to have something good done to your auto to get these times at 97 mph.

Those are the 2k1 stock tail lights. They have 3 reflectors inside the red lens. The 2k2 only has 1 reflective strip.

did u installed it yourself? The two metal clams included in the package are for adjusting the hanger at the muffler section. Wrap them around the rubber hanger and tighten them up for clearance.
