I had my passanger side headlight and drivers side fog light (housing only) replaced and now it appears that the HID bulb on the passanger side illuminates at a different intensity/color. The passanger side almost appears more yellowish and not as bright as the older/original headlight. Also, when I stand about ten feet in front of the car and crouch to ground level, the passanger side fog light isn't as bright either. Is it possible the it takes a while for the HID bulb to burn to be the same color? Also, is it possible the fog light that was replaced is angled wrong so when I crouch to ground level it appears to be not as bright? Or it is possible the wiring isn't correct? Also, how do you correctly angle head/fog lights? I'm going back to the body shop on friday but I thought I would give you guys a holla first to see if anyone had this happen to them. Thanks guys.

 

Yes HID bulbs take awhile to change color.

I doubt the angle of your fogs are different, maybe it's just that the old lens is dirtier than the new one?

 

The wiring would have to be correct or they would not work.
Are the brands of bulbs the same? Sometimes they use the cheapest they can find

 

The HID color should not be anywhere near yellow. They should start out with a little blue hue untill they stabilize and look whiter.

 

So the HID's do take a while to change to that white/blueish color?

The new housing is cleaner but I don't think that's the problem. When I crouch down ten feet in front of the car the new driver's side fog blinds me and the older passenger side is barely bothersum. They are the same PIAA bulbs that I had for a while now. The old housing is really not that dirty. Is there an angle adjustment on the back of the fog housing?

 

The HID bulb in the new passanger side headlight is brand new from Nissan. The drivers side HID is original when I bought the car two years ago. The fogs are both about a year old (PIAA Xtreme Whites).

 

I wouldn't say yellow like an old halogen bulb would be, but the older driver side is definitely more blue/white then the new passenger side.

 

Why did you have them replaced? The only thing I can think of on the Xenon bulb is the ballast or voltage is different in the new one. Maybe you should take it back and ask the installer for an explanation.
