Since our engines are basically the same- will their aftermarket clutches/flywheels work on our maximas? Sorry if this has been asked before, but search is down.

Easiest way to find out would be to call a Nissan dealership and find out if the parts numbers are the same for the two applications

Do you have any info on the stock flywheel weight?

Your ID says your car is a '95....

I have a 2000 maxima engine with a 2001 flywheel and clutch assy bolted on to it and then a z350 6 speed manual transmission bolted to all that. The throwout bearing/clutch fork assy is roughly 1" short of touching the clutch (looks like I'll be making an adapter).

Now if you happen to have a 3.5L (2002+) I don't know. The 2002 flywheel and clutch appear to be different than the 2001. Would still be a long shot though.

According to data on My350Z.com their stock flywheel and clutch assembly is about 46(?) pounds combined. The 2k2+ Maxima should be the same.

Uh, if you have a 95, I will be able to get the Fidanza DESIGNED for your car. And there are already aftermarket clutches for your application. No need to ice-skate up hill. You are correct in some ways though as the 2000-2001 maxima used the same VQ30 engine. I don't think the VQ35 versions will work as Fidanza has to re-engineer a new design flywheel for them.

No one knows exactly. The consensus is that they're different.

I think JWT makes a flywheel for the 02+ altima. I wonder if they have one for the 02+ max
