Hello all,

Well I've been noticing that my middle console in my Max has this really really annoying squeak. I didn't mind it at first, but after listening to it for 2 hours each day I'm going crazy. Does anyone else have this noise, and if so how did you get rid of it? I know our cars are full of noises, but I just can't deal with this one

 

Is it a rattle or a squeak?

About 1.5 years ago, there was this annoying rattling coming from the console area. For the longest time, I couldn't pin it down as it only happened while I was driving over bumpy roads (and it's hard to focus your attention to other things if you're driving). Finally, I noticed the sound was coming from the front cup holder area. As it turned out, the cup holder cover/door was the cause. When the door was open...rattle over bumps. Closed...no problems.

Now, after three years of owning my Maxima, the front passenger door area has developed a bit of a rattle, and sometimes there's a rattle from the rear passenger side area too. I'm trying to pin those down now.

Yeah, rattles and squeaks make me crazy too. But they tend to be part of owning a car. I remember my buddy's Supra TT...his front dash rattled like mad and I don't know how he could take it.

Thanks for the advise, I think I'll give that a try since my cup holder is usually open. I guess you tend to notice every little thing when you drive a car over 20K miles per year..

 

anytime you hear a noise just turn up the stereo. you will never hear it again!!!
