Engine Swap out

I have a 2000 maxima and it got damaged in a recent flood in houston and I Need a engine. I want to know if a 3.5 will fit in a 2000 3.0? Has anyone tried it and succeeded? If so what would be the modifications i would have to make to fit it in? Please let me know. Thanks

No reason from a mechanical standpoint that i can see as the chasis is the same. I would bet that the sensor information is at least a little different. That would require an 02-03 ECU. Then the biggest problem could be if the wiring harnesses are different. Make no mistake, I certainly have not done this, it is just MHO.

Sorry to hear about your Max. I live in Houston and kept my car off of those flooded roads during the recent rains.

With enough money, it will fit just fine.

I would stick with the 3.0 and with the extra money you would have spent on a 3.5 with install, I'm sure you could easily buy a stillen supercharger kit and still have money left for some other goodies.

Just my $0.02
