How hard is it to remove the front fender.

Hey guys Happy thanksgiving (not so happy for me) I do have a question how hard is it to remove the front passenger fender from an 02/03 for those that have done it. My wife accidentally rode her bike into my front fender and dented it, it looks like I could push it out if I took the fender off or that black protective stuff under the wheel well remove it and push it out. Any advice would be great I dont want to spend out of the pocket if I dont have to or go to through insurance, thanks

To remove the inner fender, it is not that hard. Havent done it in 6 months. Basically 2 types of fasteners. 1 or 2 10 mm screws or mabey phillips. The rest kinda look like phillips but they are not. Pry those out part way with a real small flat bladed screwdriver (the center stud) Then you can pry out the surrounding part of the fastener. It is easiest with the wheel off. Use a bright light as the black push in fasteners are kinda hard to see in the black plastic wheelwell. You have to wrestle where the removable wheelwell is tucked into the fender wheelwell lip.
There are also 1 or 2 fasteners at the front lower wheel well where it attaches to the black plastic under the bumper/ radiator.
Post again if you have a rough time getting the black plastic fasteners back in.
