Question for those who have Magnaflow tips..

I had my tips put in 2 days ago and there's a slight vibration/rattle coming
from my rear section- I did not have my stock tips cut flush to the muffler yet he cut'm a lttle more than half way..... Is this the reason ? Is there something
I could do to stop that noise?

Would tightly squeezing some insulation between the stock tip/new tip take care of this problem?

I would check the welds from the tips to the muffler. Also, as I remember on mine, he did not cut them flush because he needed to weld the tips into them. He also welded an adapter into the Magnaflows first, then welded the tips to the remaining stock muffler, making sure clearance and distance to bumper was just right. I would take it back and have the installer look at them again. See my pics, there is one of the Magnaflow and you will see the tip of the adapter that I am talking about.

Well I took it back to meineke and there was nothing wrong w/ the tip install- It was the pipe behind the muffler was slighty knocking on a suspension brace- a good push/tuck on the hanger solved it- now I back to sounding stealth

Mine are a touch downward for bumper clearance. Not noticeable unless you really look.

yeah, mine were installed directly to the muffler itself without an adapter and it seems to be fine. He left a few inches of the stock muffler on because he said that it would prevent the new tips from burning and changing colors as fast. Here are a couple of before and after pics. I had to get rid of that ugly stock AE exhaust.

Hey Manny, I was looking at your page and your tips seem to be further out, more even with the bumper than mine. Did you get the 7" tips?
And was it connected directly to the muffler? I know I have the Infiniti exhaust, would that make a difference?
