Help Newbie!!!
I bought this new wheels about 2 weeks ago and earlier this morning i tried putting them on, i thought it was just gonna be like changing tires until i ran into this problem. as i put the new wheels on and the lugnuts that came with it, the lugnuts kind of won't tighten and it was hard tightening it i thought it was just normal like that with the new lugnuts but as i tighten it some more it felt like it's grinding my wheel studs so i lossened it up and there i found my studs with kind of had a new thread (groove, or however you wanna call it) from the lugnuts...anybody can give me a detail on how to replace the studs and how much are they?
Sorry dude, I had to read this three times to understand what you were getting at. If I understand it correctly, you attempted to install new set of wheels and stripped the existing studs with the new lugnuts? Studs for 99Max are also an exact match for my 2k1, if this still holds true for 2k3, go to an auto parts store and pick yourself up a set. They run about $.98 to $1.50 each. Dealer will charge you close to $5 per. Since the studs are stripped, chances are you my also need a new set of lugnuts. I'm not sure I have seen a write-up on replacing the studs, but once you take the wheel off, it should be self-explanatory.
