MAF blew out...anyone else?
Wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this: I'm in my 2k, in the middle of passing a semi on a two-lane highway when my check light comes on suddenly and the engine immediately becomes gutless. I pull over, do some checking and decide it's the MAF. I'm stil < 10k miles, so the dealership tows it to them and takes 2 days to determine the same thing, get a new MAF and install it. My only engine mod at this point is to take out the stock airbox and put in a cone filter. No problems since the repair. Anyone else experience this or was my bad component just a fluke?
This happened to me too
I'm pulling out of the parking lot after work and I gun it a little to get to the light before it turns red. Suddenly I lose all power and get the check engine light. I was low on gas so I decide to fill up...no go, I unplug the battery over night... no go. The car would stall in D or R unless I let it warm up totally. But still the ECU wouldn't let the engine rev over 2000 rpm so acceleration was SLLOOOWWW.
I also had a cone intake. My MAF sensor was fixed under warranty. My stock intake (w/k&n panel filter) is in place for the winter. Possibly the cone will go back in the summer.

i had mine go out 3 times then i decide to get a stillen intake since then nothing has happend at first i had a regular cone filter.the reason is because the temp sensor on the air duct is moving around alot. so secure it and it will ok http://www.streetscenemag.com/issues...ncilrun/31.jpg
