people with frankencar intake please step in

i just installed the intake but there is this metal peice that is twisted at one end im pretty sure that it supose to hold up the intake but i dont know where it goes can someone tell me or post pic thanks

yea.. thats the mounting braket... i didnt put mine on.. cuz well.. mine was bent wierd and didnt fit in any place really... plus.. i think that the intake is held up pretty securely.. so.. i dont really care hahaha

that twisted piece of metal goes right by one of the screws of the strut tower like in that pic above, the shop i went to said that the piece didnt look strong enuff so they had some other one which looked stronger and had xtra holes and put that one in, personally i suggest u find a better one but if u have a strutr bar on it goes litterally side by side(the screws)

Be caredul with that. I thought the same thing and I had to buy a new AC line because of the rubbing.


I recommend bracing it.

do i just re use the bolts that was from the stock intake to attach it???

yes...they work fine....you need to make sure that the aluminum collar for the filter is rotated to a certain point so that the bracket will reach from the screwhole on the strut tower....I also left the original air box bracket on as you can see, for some strange reason 9I can't remeber what, but it made sense at the time. see pic

I snapped that bracket at the track 2 times already due to wheelhop ...
