I don't think wheel spacers are a good idea.

Nothing scientific about it. I don't think they're safe and I wouldn't buy wheels that need them to fit my car.

if you have to, just go with H&R hubcentric ones. they're safe.

Guys...

Here is the deal and I think you guys have the most knowledge to help me with my task.

I started another thread that is more tailored towards my project:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=267984

Problem for me is this:

I need to install my Wilwood Big Brake Kit but need to clear stock AE 17" wheels.
I have no idea what the offset is on the stock rims nor what the calipers need for clearance. I am very surprised that alot of people haven't tried this before so its making this harder to be the first one to accomplish this if possible.

I have been told that I will need 30-35mm but I think that is totally wrong. I think measurements need to be more accurate.

Other problem with this is I want to keep my AE rims (for now and later/much later I want to keep them as non-show/non-summer rims). So this is something I want to accomplish without everyone suggesting buy new rims.

I am pretty sure this is feasable but I haven't been able to prove it.
Since H&R doesn't sell a 30-35mm spacer kit I would need 2-15mm kits I would assume but that is ridiculous.

Any help with stock wheel offset is much appreciated. I also want to find out what is the clearance reccomendation for the Wilwood calipers and hopefully I can come up with a "real" spacer requirement instead of just some estimates.

Thanks
