New audio system

Okay, I'm going to try this once again. I have 02 with Nav. (factory) and I wanted to get a in-dash dvd player with headrest screens installed. Went to local audio shop in metro detroit and I was told that it will cost me $500.00 for just the dash-kit since nissan doesn't make one for my stereo since it has Nav. in it. I would like to keep my factory Nav. and add the rest of the stuff. Is this possible? Has anyone done it? How much? Where? Thanks for the info.

I once consulted Steet Noize here in San Diego about it and they said it was possible but didn't quote me a price. The trick is keeping the NAVI voice since that is linked to the factory head unit. The fabrication of the dash kit itself should be simple.

Check out www.mp3car.com. In my research there I've seen people hook up a computer to their Navi screen. This might work for you. No need to alter your dash at all. Hook the computer into the Navi and then use it to drive the headrest screens too. Use the computer to play the DVD's for you . . .

Good luck.
