2k2 navigation owners

does anyone know if the song names froms cd's will appear on the head unit? yes, i have used the pty button to program the available radio stations. I looked in the owners manual and it only shows this option for the maximas without the navigation system. Any help would be greatly appreciatted. thanks from the A-TOWN

that option is not part of the nav, it's part of the bose stereo.

no, the name will not come up in the nav screen.

if you read correctly i didn't ask about the navigation screen, it was about the bose head unit, will the song titles from cd's appear on the head unit if you have the navigation system

my bad...

I didn't see in the manual where it says anything about that option and nav. Sorry, I don't have nav and have the 6-cd version and text does show up on mine (if that helps).

I've gotten RDS text from some local stations but no matter how many times I press the PTY button no CD I have will produce song titles or any other info besides track numbers. Maybe it's because the head unit itself has no CD player.

Same here... It's either the Navi, or we're just idiots and are burning CDs in the wrong format.

If you burn your own CD's with Text, you will get the names. Most store bought CDs don't have text.

Do you have a stock Navi system? Does it work for you? Or are you just theorizing?... Because 4 of us with Navi can't get it to work...

How do you guys like the Navi on this car? Is it easy to use? Maps good quality? What else does the Navi screen show?

I don't have Navi but my Bose radio also has that feature. And I know some most store bought CDs don't have the text on them. If your radio HAS the text feature and your CD has text burned into it, it should work.

That's exactly why the thread is titled "2k2 navigation owners"

We know it works for you guys... but NOT for us...

Sorry for stating my opinion. The store bought CD and burned CDs still hold true though.
