Just bought a 2k 5-spd a few weeks ago and the tail lights are no longer working.

FACTS:
- I bought the car from a dealer and it had to have passed a safety inspection and I'm guessing the lights worked when I bought it (never checked).

- I have put on clear side marker lights since I bought it.

- All the other lights are working fine (back-up, side marker, turn signal, dome, brake, fog, hazard, etc.)

- All the fuses looked fine. I swapped out the Tail Lights 10 amp fuse under the hood just in case. Still no workie.

- I've done no re-wireing of the side markers or anything else.


Is it possible that both tail light bulbs went out simultaneously? Could I somehow have pulled on a wire when changing the side markers?

I've searched and read everything here on this subject, but everything pointed to a bad fuse.

Suggestions??? I'm baffled.

 

Mine DID!!!! Had to replace both bulbs. I thought it was weird too!

 

I couldn't believe it, but you were right.

I pulled the bulbs and the tail light filament on both was blown.

Replaced. Now all good.

 

mine did that too as soon as i put in the clear side markers with white L.E.D.'s, my tail lights started acting up, but i fixed them. then my head lights did it, and so i fixed them, and now my side markers flicker and i keep getting pulled over so i took them out.
