Don't put too much trust in the car fax. I did a car fax on the ECU I recieved from a junk yard. It said the car was eligible for the garentee. Funny when I was holding the ECU and ignition in my hands. Further in the report it stated it was sold to a salvage yard for parts. What again was the garentee for?

It is amusing information and I have run the car fax on all the cars I have owned and most of the parts I have bought from salvage yards (I keep copies of the titles of my old cars and salvage yards put the vin #'s on the recipts).

It can be helpful though. The vin for the engine I received did show that the car had been totalled. No garentee for that vin #. Humm...
