2k2+ Red/Clear tails

Sorry for the Newb question thats probably been answered a million times BUT....can I clear the amber part of my tails out by just simply opening them up and taking it out? Or is there something more complex going on in there that I can't see? Thanks for the help.

it has been tried before, but supposedly the rear lights crack really easily when you try to open them up. I remember emax cracked about 2 or 3 tail lights before he just gave up.

most members were using some type of spray paint to paint the orange lense from the inside to make it a solid red.

the 2k-2k1 rear lights require only a bulb change.

Well you can now buy clear tails (black or chrome inner housing). You could always try getting those and then painting the top half red from the inside w/Testors candy apple red paint...

might as well just paint the amber part instead of buying new taillights again and painting some more..
