piaa wiper blades

there was a thread just over a year ago regarding wiper blade refills, but i can't pull it up bc i'm an unregistered user...??? so i'm creating a new one.

my 2k max has 58k and i need to change the blades for the first time. i'm looking at the PIAA silicones. will the refills fit in the maxima or do i need to buy the entire assembly? the entire assembly ain't cheap.

also, i called pep boys, kragen, and autozone and none of them carry the 26". wtf? and nissan is selling both refills for $27. OUTRAGEOUS!! has anyone found a store that sells the infamous 26"?

u get em....yank out old rubber blade straight up through the tip of the wiper and slide in new one from package (tossing blue clips ontop of new blade into garbage-not needed)

I saw something on some TV show about another company that also makes silicone wiper blades. Does anyone know who they are and/or their website?

I don't know yet. I do know that OEM refills go bad FAST. I've been so through many it's not even funny. I always use Rain-X and I'm not one of those people that leave the wipers on intermittent when it's not wet enough. They're just cheap rubber or something. I hope the PIAAs last me at least a year or longer.

Oh, they will... I've had mine for a year now. Just remember to eventually clean them / wipe them down.

I agree !!! With Rain-X, all the windows can have a silicon coating.

Is there any reason to get the PIAA wipers if you're using Rain-X??? I use Rain-X and just replace the blades every 6 months to keep a new blade on the wiper. I apply the Rain-X every 6 months as well.....

but when you buy the refill....

at 6-8 each refill, you're right there, and CHEAPER than most other blades.

What the heck do you guys do to your wiper blades. I may change them once every 5-8 years. I jjust don't use them b/c I use Rain X. I apply the Rain X once every 4-6 months and its fine. ~A bottle lasts me a couple years for both my vehicles

when i got my pia blades (entire assembly) they came with an applicator that had a chemical that smelled like rain-x. i believe it is the same stuff, and you also apply just like rain-x.

my favorite blades are the bosch micro edge but the do not come in 26"
