So there is no difference between H&R and Maxspeed springs?

I got a set of Maxspeeds that i'm going to be replacing the Ground Controls with. I wanted H&Rs but couldn't find them. As far as the drop goes and ride quality.. how do they compare?

I know on 4th gens, H&Rs were lower than Maxspeeds.. is it the case on 5th gens?

Maxspeed are about half the price of H&Rs

as far as the ride and drop...H&Rs i am pretty sure are softer by a bit and the drop isnt low as the Maxspeed, but they are very similar except for the fact that the H&Rs are a 100% german made.

Yeah, the maxspeeds are basically H&R knockoffs.
The H&R are of better quality IMO but whatever, its just a peice of bent metal right.

No argument there bro, considering they are pretty much 1/2 the cost of H&R and it does exactly what the H&R's do why not? They are soft as hell if your looking for that, so even if your rollin 20's on rubber bands the ride isnt too bad.
I personally like the Tein drop, but the maxspeed ride I like better... I just would never cut them ...again should I say

Hey Kloogy, I got maxspeeds too and want a lower drop. How much lower are you expecting from the tein's? You're getting the regular (non-coilover) teins right?

From fender to ground its about an inch less wheel gap. My ride right now sits 25.25" from the fender to the ground in the front and 27.75" when it was OEM setup. The rear is now at 25.75 (soon to be 25" ) but was at 27.25 stock. Dont 4get Kloogy as a kick @ss audio setup so that does also effect the ride height, mostly in the **** end though.

i have a question about maxspeeds, or just lowering springs in general. is it nescesarry to buy aftermarket gas shocks such as tokiko's if you have lowering springs, because maxspeed recomends that you do.

yes it is necessary... your stock shocks wont be able to handle the after market springs
your car is gonna be very bumpy and there is a chance that your stock shocks will blow

i would highly recommend gettting after market shocks

KYB gr2 or tockicos are both fine

Nope. Any settling would have happened by now.

Yes...replace the shocks at the same time as your springs. I had many people tell me it wasn't necessary and to just use the OEM shocks until they wore out. Problem was, when I finally replaced the OEMs with KYB GR2s, I realized the ride sucked from the beginning, I just didn't know it. Do it all at the same time.
