I have a 2000 SE 5spd that has had a clutch vibration problem since it was new. When you let out the clutch you feel a 'shaking' through the car. I brought it back to the dealer at 1K miles and they replaced the clutch. Well, the car only has 4,200miles on it (yes, it is 1 1/2 years old) and the problem still exists, although doesn't seem as bad. I haven't brought the car back yet, because I am not sure if I am just being picky. Do other 5spd owners have any similiar sensations? You can tell best if you are idling on a flat surface and you slowly let the clutch out until it just starts to grab (DON'T push in the gas). You'll feel a shuddering. It has nothing to do with the engine stalling (which is what will happen if you continue to let the clutch out without pushing on the gas), but is the clutch. I would be curious to know if anyone could share their own experiences.

Thanks,

Yeah. I've got a little clutch chatter when I engage the clutch normally in 1st gear, but it's obviously not as bad as yours. My whole car doesn't shake when I engage the clutch. If it did, I'd take it back to the dealer like you did.

It's not hard, just different. The clutch is much lighter than say a BMW, and the clutch throw is longer. The stick is notchier, and longer throw than I was used to, but a little practice and you'll be ok. One thing to be aware of though is the car loves to rush to redline, so you gotta be a little more careful.
