Aluminum trim

I am considering getting the Aluminum dash trim kit. I see on some sites they have the OE dash trim. Are any of these kits different? I've seen prices as low as $150, is that good? I have black leather, will this kit look good? How easy is it to install/clean?

Of the pictures I have seen I like the look of it it. Those who have or are considering getting it, how do you like it? Can it be removed and how easy it so?

I am considering getting the aluminum trim that is on sale at custommaxima right now. Will it be compatible with my auto HVAC?

Climate Control (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning - HVAC). Is it compatible with both manual and auto climate control or just manual? I have auto and was wondering if it will work.

check out www.autodash.com . The best kit to get is the molded kit. i did a search (when any org memeber was able to search without donating)on dash kits and the best recommended was autodash.com because they sell molded kits which give you the best fit. then again the price is around $250. you pay for what you get .

yeah, molded definitely fits better. molded kits also look a whole lot more like they came with the car.

It does?!?! Is it really thin, or does it sit off of the plastic underneath?

Its rather thin but has to be heated up so tht you can shape it around the dash. It says to use a heat gun or to use the heat from your car. I didnt have a heat gun and it was a pain in the ***. I end up quitting and throwing away 400+ bucks on the kit. I would definately recommend molded kids.

Guys, my shop makes the kits that Custom Maxima carries. Molded kits are plastic with a faux metal finish. Custommaxima carries real aluminum kits that are flat. The metal is thin, so it conforms, but it is not molded because you can't make a molded kit from real metal.

I thought it was supposed to be easy to install. What if I use a hair dryer to warm it up would that make it easier?

I am seriously interested in the alum trim sale at custom maxima. Does anyone have pictures of their cars installed with this kit? The pics on the sites that sell them are too small.

It is very easy to install. The only thing is that the adhesive is very strong. So if you don't test fit it first, and you misalign it during the install, you may mess up the piece. But that doesn't happen too much. It's the same with all dash kits, wood, carbon fiber, aluminum, molded, they all use the same tape.

I'm this [---] close to buying the aluminum trim that is on sale at custom maxima right now. I like how it looks in the pictures and I kind of think my bland gray on black interior looks a little drab. Is there any reason why I shouldn't get it?

Will it look ricey or will it look classy?

Get it already- no matter what brand- a dash kit will make your interior way nicer specially if you have some black in your interior-
Check my site for interior pics to get an idea how it looks in a dark interior-
not custommaximas kit, but you can get an idea

I just ordered the aluminum trim from custom maxima on sale and shipped it to my house. I hope to get it and install it when I get home for Christmas in about a week.
